Warning, there are extensive spoilers in here (about the only thing I don't give away is the end). Also, all names appear in Western order (first name, last name).

Heero Yuy
Heero Yuy, the perfect soldier, is named after a peacekeeping diplotmate (Ironic? Maybe) He is the pilot of the Wing Gundam, Wing Zero, or 01. He was raised by Odin Lowe, who died in front of him, telling him to follow his emotions. This seems to have caused Heero to do the oposite, and he always hides his emotions behind an indefferent mask (not literally... that's for Zechs. O.o;;;) He was found and raised by Professor J to be the perfect soldier and killing weapon. He followed his missions, destroying everything he was told to. Or, he did, before he met Relena Dorlian, who has decided to follow him around and try to make him stop fighting. She has yet to actually succed in that, Heero isn't one to let girls, even the queen of the world, get in his way. More on Heero |

Duo Maxwell, the braided baka, is the joker of the group. He has also had the (arguably) most tramatic past. When he was young he lived on the streets in a gang. His best friend, Solo, died of a disease which Duo couldn't get the money to buy the cure to. Consequently, he named himself Duo so he would never be alone. After stealing one too many apples, he was shipped off to the Maxwell church where he met Father Maxwell and Sister Helen, who braided his hair. The church was destroyed by soldiers while Duo was stealing Mobile Suits to ransom for it. He returned only to have Sister Helen die in his arms. Now he pilots 02, aka Deathscythe or the second 02, Deathscythe Hell, calling himself Shinigami, the God of Death, since everyone he loves dies. (Awww.) More on Duo |

The pilot known as Trowa has no name, and thus for a while was called Nanashi (no name in Japanese). Before operation Meteor he was present at the killing of the real Trowa Barton, and then took on the name so that he (Trowa) couldn't go destroy the Earth, and because he liked Heavyarms. He is the silent one of the bunch (although Heero is trying for that title...) and is frequently written as saying "..." (hey, I write fics, I know) He and Quatre are good friends (if you think more, that's up to you) and when Quatre supposedly kills him, he (Quatre) is grief stricken forever (or until he comes back...) But that's another story. Due to Quatre's attack he is left floating in space for quite a while, and looses his memory. He goes to live with his sister Catherine in the circus where he gets to be the guy who has knives thrown at him, until found and brought back by the GW pilots. He pilots Heavy Arms, aka 03. Quatre is the sweet pilot, who prefers not to fight and is probably the worst fighter. Fortunetly, he is a very good strategist. He is the heir of the Winner family, a very rich family. He has 29 sisters, but they were all born from test tubes. He mother gave birth to him, but died in the process. He believes that he is also a test tube child. When his father and sister are killed he goes a little nutzy and tries to blow up everything (O.o;;; a little, eh?). He does succede in blowing up Trowa, his best friend, after which he goes back to his normal, if very guilty, self. He befriended the Maguanacs, who call him Master Quatre in the dub and Quatre-sama (Lord Quatre, subtitled as Sir Quatre) in Japanese. He pilots Sandrock, which fights with scimitars (not my ideal choise of weapons...). More on Quatre |

Chang Wufei, Wufei to his friends (and everyone else, as they don't have the right to call him by his first name) fights for Justice. He is the leader of the Dragon Clan of China (or colony 05...), and was married when he was 14, I think, to Meiran, a very fiesty girl who wanted to fight. Unfortunetly, she got her wish and died fighting while protecting a field of flowers. Wufei was horrified, and vowed to fight for justice (and against the injustice of women fighting...). He is a lone wolf, and very chauvinistic, although now we know why O.o;;; He is a soldier, and only knows how to fight (or so he claims) and is willing to fight for the other side if it means he gets to (is that a little messed up, or is is just me?) He pilots Nataku (named after Meiran), aka 05, aka Shenglong, and Altron (that boy goes through gundams like hair gel.) More on Wufei |

I don't mean to take sides here, but having seen Just Love, the ending theme, I feel REALLY sorry for Heero. I just thought I'd say that. Anyways, Relena is the "daughter" of Mr. Dorlian, a diplomate who was killed in an attack. Before that, however, she met Heero, who vowed to kill her (more than once). She wasn't very fazed, and decided to follow him around for reasons best known to herself. When her father died, she finds out that she is really Relena Peacecraft, the Princess of the Sanc Kingdom, a destroyed pacifist nation. She sets up Sank again and runs a school teaching pacifism. Heero comes and saves her from an OZ attack, encouraging her further. She confronts her brother Milliardo to try to stop the destruction of Earth but fails, leaving it for Heero. More on Relena |

Zechs, as I'll call him, was trained by Treiz Khushrenada to be a specials agent. He got the highest scores ever in the academy (although it is rumoured Noin let him beat her...) He earned himself the knickname of "The Lightning Count" for his speed in battle. He was the first, and one of only two people, who can control the Tallgeese, the model for all other mobile suits (although it gave him a heart attack, literally). He wears a mask to protect his true identity *drumroll* Milliardo Peacecraft, Relena's brother and heir to the Sanc Kingdom. When the mask is broken he stops fighting for Triez and decided to help White Fang destroy Earth (whether he really means to or is just trying to make Earth realise something is a topic we'll leave for a later day.) In EW he comes back to be Preventor Wind. (Everyone in Japan seems to be under the impression that wind stops fire. All it does is fan the flames, people!) |

Boy, try saying that five time fast. Treiz is a very challenging person to understand. He seems to have unusual effects on other people (like giving them split personalities... Oi.) He is the leader of the Specials, an organisation of elitely trained soldiers. He was part of OZ, but was just being used by Romefellor, and ended up being held prisoner by them. His soldiers (the Treiz faction) are fanatically loyal to him, and fight against OZ when he is taken prisoner. He builds the gundam Epion and installs the Zero system on it, then gives it to Heero. He is the only other person capable of piloting the Tallgeese, Zechs' suit. |

Lady Une, as I'll call her since it's shorter, is Treiz's loyal ... servant... I don't mean that literally. Anyways, she's in love with him, and it's caused her to develope split personalities, the kind gently diplomate, Lady Une, and the ruthless commander, Lieutenant Une ("if he's ugly capture him, if he's cute kill him..."). Getting shot puts an end to that though... Tragically, Treiz dies before she can tell him she loves him, although he knows anyways. In EW she is the leader of the Preventors. |

Noin, as she likes to be called, was a Specials officer and served OZ. However, she broke away from them and now fights for the Sanc Kingdom and to protect Relena, for Zechs. She is in love with Zechs, although she doesn't really seem to get through to him until 46 episodes and a movie later... (And people think I'm dense...) She pilots a white Taurus suit, which Zechs nearly eliminates. But that's okay. Anything at all for the one you love, right? She becomes Preventor Fire in EW. In the manga she really seems (to me) to look like Trowa. It's very confusing. That hair style must be very popular... |

Sally is rumoured to be Chinese. She is also rumoured (although in different circles O.o;;;) to have a thing for Wufei. She collects Gundams on Earth to give back to the pilots when they return for them (or what's left of them). She was an Alliance Soldier (Major) but split off to be a rebel. In EW she is a preventor, Preventor Water. |

Catherine is Trowa's brother supposedly (this is assuming he's really Triton Bloom.) She is the knife chucker at the circus. When Trowa looses his memory she finds him and brings him to work with her. She is anti-fighting, or perhaps just anti-Trowa-fighting, since she's always trying to keep him from fighting. She really just wants him to stay with her, as she tries to keep the other Pilots from jogging his memory and making him leave. Trowa is constantly coming back to her, so she needn't worry. |

Hilde worked for OZ (briefly) where she met Duo, who convinced her to leave OZ and fight against them, or at least not for them... She snuck into Barge and brought back info on it for the pilots. She was badly injuried in the process, and her last scene in GW was being taken away on a stretcher (O.o;;;) fortunetly, she makes an appearance in EW, proving that yes, she is still alive. She and Duo seem to be running a scrap yard together (Ooo, the romance (I'm sorry, I'm sarcastic by nature)) |
![]() |
Is it just me or does her last name sound like canalonie? But seriously, Dorothy is, in my opinion, the scariest character in GW. I mean, look at her eyebrows! Eep. Anyways, her Grandfather is Duke Dermail, a very important figure in Romefellor. She goes to Relena's school and is constantly talking (and praising) Miss Relena. She becomes part of White Fang and stays on Barge with Zechs. She also stabs Quatre (a little mean, or what?) She appears in EW to bring protestors to the fight between the Barton Foundation and the Gundams. |
![]() |
I don't know a whole lot about them, other than that they each built a Gundam. Professors J and G did Wing Zero and Deathscythe (respectively, Instructor H Sandrock, Doktor S Heavyarms and Master O Nataku. They are all captured by OZ and forced to build Mercurius and Vayeate. |

Howard is a mechanic who lives on a boat in the pacific, and wears a Hawaiian print shirt. He worked on Tallgeese, and when he finds Zechs with it, he repairs it and sends him off "to see what's happening in Space". He later helps on Peacemillion collecting the Gundams. |
I'm not going into the commanders of OZ, White Fang, Romefeller etc. unless someone emails me and asks me too, or I do it later. It's too confusing... (^-^;;)
Endless Waltz

![]() |
Mariemaia Khushrenada is the daughter of (you guessed it) Treiz Khushrenada. She is tricked into being the leader of the Barton Foundation, and, when they take over the Earth Sphere, she'll be leader of that too (to give her credit, she is only 7 or something...) In the end she is seen under Lady Une's care, most people believe that she adopted Treiz's daughter (out of love for him, most likely) |
![]() |
Dekim Barton is the mastermind behind Endless Waltz, and was involved in Operation Meteor. He believes that the Barton Foundation should rule the Earth Sphere, so he's been training troops, collecting MS' for taking over the Earth. His (although most people say Mariemaia's) Coup d'Etat comes on Christmas eve AC 196. |
